Office Practices

🌿 Welcome to Whipple Creek Wellness

A Note About Our Practice

We’re so glad you’re here. Choosing a mental health provider is an important step, and we want to start things off on the right foot—with honesty, clarity, and mutual respect.

At Whipple Creek Wellness, we believe that a strong patient-provider relationship begins with a good fit. That means clear expectations, open communication, and shared goals for your care. Our practice may not be the right match for everyone—and that’s okay! If it turns out we’re not the best team to support your needs, we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction.

Here’s what you can expect from us—and what we’ll expect in return—to help make this a successful partnership.

🧠 What We Do

We specialize in outpatient psychiatric care for children, teens, and adults. Our services include:

  • Psychiatric evaluations

  • Medication management

  • Supportive psychotherapy

  • Coordination with other providers

We’re here to help with conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, trauma, ODD, and ADHD, as well as insomnia. If your needs are outside the scope of what we offer—such as care for eating disorders or personality disorders—we’ll refer you to someone who can better support you.

📅 How We Handle Visits

We offer both in-person and telehealth visits (as long as you’re in Washington or Oregon). We ask that you:

  • Arrive on time

  • Be in a private, appropriate setting for telehealth (not a car, public space, or your office breakroom)

  • Reschedule at least 24 business hours in advance if something comes up

Missed visits or late cancellations make it hard for us to serve all of our patients fairly, so fees may apply. You’ll always find the full details in your patient paperwork—but we’ll keep the reminders kind and straightforward.

💊 Medication Stuff

Medication can be beneficial—but it also comes with responsibilities. We require regular check-ins for all prescriptions, especially during new starts or dosage changes. Refills are never automatic and are only issued when you’re actively engaged in care.

We do not prescribe scheduled benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Ativan) due to safety risks. We’ll talk through all your options and work together on a plan that’s right for you.

💬 Communication

We’re a small team, and we value your time. All non-urgent messages should go through the Patient Portal to ensure security and organization. We usually respond within one business day.

If you’re experiencing an emergency, we’re not the place to call—but we’ve listed great resources in our Resources section.

🤝 Mutual Respect Matters

We’re here to treat you with professionalism, kindness, and respect—and we expect the same in return. Disruptive, threatening, abusive, or unsafe behavior is never okay and may lead to the end of the treatment relationship.

Abusive behavior includes both verbal and physical aggression. Verbal aggression may include yelling, raising one's voice, name-calling, or using hostile language. Maintaining a safe and respectful environment is crucial for the well-being of everyone.

🚪If It’s Not a Fit, That’s Okay

Sometimes, it becomes clear that we’re not the best clinical match for your needs. Maybe we can’t offer the frequency of care you need, maybe our approach isn’t what you were looking for, or perhaps life gets in the way of keeping appointments. That’s all part of the process—and there’s no shame in it.

If we ever reach that point, we’ll let you know, respectfully, and in writing. And we’ll make sure you have time (and medication if needed) to transition to another provider.

💳 Payment & Insurance

We bill most major commercial insurance plans, but we do not accept Medicare. A credit card is required to be kept on file, and any co-pays, deductibles, or balances are due at the time of your visit.

We also offer cash pay rates for patients without insurance. However, cash pay is not available to individuals with Medicare coverage, even if they choose not to use their benefits.

For more information about missed visit fees and additional details, please refer to our Payment Practices.

🌤 Let’s Start Well

We’re excited to support you in your mental health journey. Our goal is to be transparent, kind, and collaborative—because when expectations are clear, care is better for everyone.

If you ever have questions about how we work, reach out! We’re happy to walk you through the details.
